Empty flat with boxes stacked and beer bottles on the counter.

Well, we made the site.

Not sure yet what we'll actually do with it - but I like the idea of writing about what happens as we go. No promises though.

We've set up the Instagram too - probably the better place to follow along for now.

We also bought a camera (the Ricoh GR IIIx) - small enough to keep on us, good enough to remember what the phone forgets. We'll see how that goes.

The past few weeks have been a blur: finishing work, packing up the flat, trying to see everyone before we go. There's been a lot of moving - dinners, goodbyes, train rides - all somehow both exciting and exhausting. Even trying to book just enough ahead takes more energy than I expected.

We hosted a proper leaving party at ours - still thinking I should sit down and write about that one properly. It was so lovely. One of those nights where it actually hits that it's happening.

This week we took a quick trip up to Sheffield - had brunch at Marmadukes. So, so good. Get the chipotle cornbread. The whole place smelled like butter and coffee - worth the trip.

Now we're bouncing between parents' houses, boxes in storage, and bags scattered everywhere. Everything we own is basically in one bag - the Patagonia MLC 45L - which I've been living out of for the past couple of weeks. Dan’s bag? The Fjällräven Färden Carry-On Pack - so we match.

Almost everything's ready to go. Less than two weeks until the flight.

Damn. It's starting to feel real.
